India is incomplete without Shiv, and for his followers, the World is incomplete without Shiva. Let us take you to a 07 Days trip/trek to follow his stories, listen to his legends, understand why people love him, pray him, follow him and devote their life for him. According to legend, he is the supreme yogi, the destroyer and the deep mediator. So, let’s walk across the Himalayas, his home and listen to his stories and try to find the meaning of life through his perspective.

This is a trek in one of the most beautiful regions of the middle Himalayas! Starting from the yoga capital of the world, Rishikesh and coming back to the same via after this beautiful, peaceful, spiritual and physically challenging trip. We don’t just listen more about Shiva and few more ultra ancient stories but also think deeply about nature, and ourselves.

This is a seven days trip from New Delhi to New Delhi and includes almost everything from our side to make the tour smooth and memorable. Yes, as we are going to deep within Himalayan villages the facilities are going to be minimal but sufficient. We will take care that you come back with beautiful memories and deep connections with yourself. The motive of the trip is to explore nature, Himalayan villages, and have a better understanding of Indian spiritual stories along with a really adventurous trek in the middle of magical mountains. Once we are back to Rishikesh, we will explore the town, go for yoga classes, evening prayers and eat in awesome cafes.

Itineraries

Day 1

Delhi - Rishikesh

An early morning start from Delhi to Rishikesh so that we can reach the town by afternoon, take some rest. A beautiful evening is waiting for us on the banks of the holy river, Ganga. All we need tonight is good food and proper rest to start our big days from tomorrow.

Day 2

Rishikesh - Deveria Lake

We will start our drive to a really small village in the lap of the Himalayas. The drive is long, although just 190km due to under construction roads it will take us around 06 hours minimum. We will also stop in one of the towns for our lunch. After reaching Sari by late afternoon and having a chai, we need to be ready to hike almost 2km till we reach this beautiful lake, Deveria. It is said that angels come to this lake by night ;)

Day 3

Forest Trek To Chopta

How you can miss the sunrise over this lake. Maybe it is hard for even the best poets to describe this moment, why don’t you try after experiencing it yourself. Snow clad mountains and the sun rising above them. Golden fusing with pure white! After breakfast, we will get ready and start our 15km trek to Chopta. Going through the magical forest, water streams, meadows, and trails with our packed lunch, we will reach Chopta by evening. One of the most beautiful grasslands, Chopta is going to be our base before starting our trek to the holy shrine of Tungnath and peak of Chandrashila.

Day 4

Tungnath & Chandrashila Trek

After our breakfast, we will start our well-paved hike to the temple of Shiva, Tungnath. This is also the highest temple of Shiva in the Indian mainland. Surrounded by stories of how the temple came into the picture, we will hike through alpine areas. After a really steep hike, we will reach this ancient temple, which is said to be constructed in 2000BC and present structure is as well at least 1000 year old. After the temple, we will start our hike to Chandrashila, the highest point in mid-level Himalaya, 4090 meters. We we are lucky with the weather, it will be one of the best views of Himalayas ever. By afternoon we will hike back to Chopta, take a rest and talk over the sips of chai.

Day 5

Chopta - Rishikesh

We will start early morning drive to Rishikesh and be in the town by afternoon again to take some rest and get ready to soak ourselves in the vibe of the town. Maybe again an evening prayer of the river or experiencing a beautiful sunset next to the river just a free evening to be ourselves.

Day 6

Rishikesh

Early morning walk to the Beatles ashram, a place which belongs to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi now covered by forest and with a lot of beautiful wall paintings. This place can make to travel back in time, so remember to come back with us. Rest of the day is dedicated to walk to some ashrams, hand out in cafes, maybe if you wanna hike again to a temple or just walk to a white sand beach and rest under the sun, the choice is all yours.

Any month apart from the monsoons is perfect for this trek ie. July to September usually depending on the rains. In winters is it one of the best snow treks and in summers it has its own beauty.
